From a distance, the jagged volcanic peaks harbouring the mountain gorillas stand at the centre of an eroded volcanic domes cut by radial valleys and ridges and standing proudly over the plains and savannah below. Elephant, black Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Colobus monkey, antelope and Giant Forest Hog can also be seen in most of the parks, so it is best to have a knowledgeable guide.
